Why is Swimming a good form of Exercise?
Improves Overall Fitness
Swimming is an incredible way to stay fit and healthy, as it provides a low-impact, high-intensity workout that engages your muscles, lungs and heart. It’s an excellent cardiovascular exercise that can help reduce your risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
Swimming is easy on the joints, making it an excellent option for those with arthritis or other joint problems. The buoyancy of the water aids to take the pain away. Swimming is considered a low impact form of exercise, making it extremely gentle on the joints.
Increased Muscle Strength
Swimming uses all of the major muscle groups in the body. Not only does swimming help to build muscle strength, it also has the added benefit of building endurance too.
